This Classic Mosaic is of Emperor Justinian I.

Justinian's most famous work,
Corpus Juris Civilis (Body of Civil Law)(A.K.A. Code of Justinian), was one of the biggest impacts over Justinian's rule. It was 400 years worth of Roman Law that 10 men he hired organized and wrote down all of the laws that were important to the community at that time period. The men would take the Roman Law (Twelve Tables) organize all of the laws, and throw out unimportant ones. There was only 4,000 laws and they were recorded into 4 books.
The Code of Justinian is not used today literally, but some laws are still alive today. For example, some are in our own Constitution. Some others might be found in the laws of other countries too. Not all of the laws from Justinian are as important as the ones used today, and we have created new laws to fit the technology of present-day.
